Medal of Honor Recipient Leroy A. Petry Battlescape

I was tasked to create a battlescape for Medal of Honor Recipient Sgt. 1st Class Leroy Petry's website on Army.mil. Being that it is rare that a Medal of Honor is awarded to a living Soldier, I wanted to create something unique and something that had never been done before. I decided that we should do a set of 3-D renderings depicting exactly what happened, much like a comic strip. I used 3DS Max to create the series of renderings with help from a colleague. John Heiner provided guidance and interpretation of the satellite images we were given by the Army and Patrick Slawinski designed the layout of the battlescape website and as a team, we were able to deliver a product that was the first of its kind used on Army.mil and that several news and media organizations asked to use in their productions, including the Washington Post, CBS' Late Show with David Letterman and Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
